Jump Then Fall: Introduction

My name is Kat, I'm a figure skater, have been for 15 years. I'd lived in sunny, tropical Florida for all my life, until one sweltering August day. It was particurlary hot on this day and being on the ice felt so good. I practiced my axels, my salcows and my lutzs. After an exahusting and brutal practice my coach, Nina, came up to me and said she has something serious to talk about. Nina decided she was tired of the blistering heat that I so dearly loved and was packing up and moving to Pittsburgh, Pensylvania. I cried my eyes out when I heard the news. Nina had been my coach since I was four and now I would have to search for a new one, or so I had thought. Nina laughed when she saw the tears streaming down my face.
"Ohh please", she had laughed, "You thought you could get rid of me that easily?"
And with that my mother shipped me off to live with Nina in this cold city where I knew no one.
